Spring 2025 New Student Researcher and Parent Orientation

TIME: Morning Session- 10:00 AM-Noon & Afternoon session 1:30-4:00 PM

LOCATION: Gillmor Center, Mission College, Santa Clara, CA (park in Lot D Only)

What time should we arrive?

• Morning Session Check-In 9:30 AM and the program begins at 10:00 AM

• Afternoon Session Check-In 1:00PM and the program begins at 1:30 PM

Where is Orientation held?

The orientation event is held at the Gillmor Center at Mission College.

What rooms will be used in the Gillmor Center?

• Parent Orientation will be held in the GC-103 lecture hall

• Student Orientation will be held in the GC-107 lecture hall

On the day of Orientation

• Check In: You will be required to show your QR code for entry to orientation. This will also be the log of your attendance. Students who fail to attend orientation will not be permitted to begin pre-work later this month. Morning Session 9:30 AM & Afternoon Session 1:00 PM

• Arrive on time: Please park in Parking Lot D. This is a ~5 minute walk from the Gillmor center. Please do not be late. If you are coming for the afternoon session, consider coming a bit early for some free food! You do not need to bring anything besides yourself and your check-in QR code.

• Review the Schedule: As a new student, you will attend both a general session while your parents attend a parent-specific general session. You will also attend faculty talks in the Natural Sciences (GC-107) or in Computer Science & Engineering (GC-103). We have many of our faculty giving brief 10-minute overviews of their group!
